Dr Rose How

Associate Editor

I’m Rose, I’m 24 and have just finished medical school at the University of Birmingham. During my time there I intercalated in BSc Clinical Anatomy and had the opportunity to publish a case report and present around the world. I’ve also been working as a Peer Reviewer for the BMJ Case Reports, which deepened my love for research and helped me to explore areas I’m interested in, including, Palliative Care, EDI and wellbeing.

I’m due to start FY1 at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire as a Less-than Full-Time Doctor and I can’t wait to begin. Alongside my clinical work, I am passionate about Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Shaped by both my personal experience and my work in an Equality role, I strongly believe that flexible, non-linear portfolio careers provide a more accessible and sustainable approach to medicine. I also have a role as Opportunities Officer with More than Medics helping to share more non-conventional medical events with students and doctors around the world. I’m incredibly excited to start as a BSDJ Associate Editor, as I take the next steps into the world of Medical Journalism!
