Christopher Shin
Associate Editor
Chris is a final year medical student at the Catholic University of South Korea, currently fulfilling his military duty near the Military Demarcation Line. He was awarded an academic excellence scholarship while serving as student body president.
His academic interests span from integrating data science into clinical care to discovering areas for improvement in medical education. During his early years in medical school, the pandemic struck, and he taught himself data analysis and AI modelling. Chris utilized his skills not only in academic settings but also in corporations, where he developed interactive dashboards for data analysis in clinical research. Moreover, having experienced two consecutive health policy conflicts with the government and the ensuing massive strikes, Chris became interested in international differences in health policies, as well as medical education systems. His curiosity led him to conduct a comparative review of professionalism education and assessment structure among the US, UK, and South Korea.
Through his role as an associate editor of BSDJ, Chris aims to contribute to the journal's goal of providing more opportunities for medical students to share their perspectives.
