Callum Williams
Associate Editor
Callum is a medical student at the University of Glasgow. He has previously completed an intercalated degree in Emergency medicine where he undertook multiple research projects including a review on the diagnostic yield of CT head scans in first seizure patients which was published in the Emergency Medicine Journal. He aspires to a clinical academic career with interests in anaesthetics, emergency medicine and intensive care medicine.
Alongside his academic studies, Callum is a passionate advocate for improving conditions for medical students and doctors. In his role as deputy co-chair for education and training on the British Medical Association’s (BMA) UK Medical Students’ Committee, he has advocated for students’ interests in medical education including leading a national campaign to reform the foundation programme recruitment system.
In this role on the BSDJ editorial board, Callum hopes to encourage more medical students to get involved in research and publish high quality papers.
