Thomas is a medical student at The University of Sheffield and has undertaken an intercalated MSc in Human Anatomy with Education. He has strong interests in both research and surgery and aims to combine these in his future practice as an academically active surgeon. He is President of the Sheffield Academic Medicine Society and having experienced the difficulties students face when trying to get into
research and publishing, Thomas is a great supporter of encouraging academic careers.
He hopes to apply for the Academic Foundation Programme before pursuing a PhD and has published in a number of journals including Pediatric Research, The Clinical Teacher and Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine. Thomas is also a peer-reviewer for a range of PubMed indexed journals including Annals of Medicine and Surgery and Anatomical Sciences Education.
Outside of medicine, Thomas dabbles in a bit of amateur squash, is a flat white coffee enthusiast and enjoys visiting the Far East.
