Suzanne Murphy completed a BSc in General nursing in Trinity College Dublin in 2011. After spending a year working in Tallaght University Hospital, she moved to TLC Nursing home to take a job as a staff nurse before becoming clinical nurse manager in 2014. She also completed a post graduate diploma in tissue viability and wound management in the Royal College of Surgeons (RCSI) in 2014.
In 2015, Suzanne returned to RCSI to study medicine as a mature student. During her time in RCSI she has served as senior editor, editor in chief and director of the RCSI Student Medical Journal. In the summer of 2018, Suzanne started the RCSI student chapter of the Association of Women surgeons. It was the first Irish chapter of the organization and went on to win best new society at the RCSI student awards in 2019. Suzanne has also been heavily involved with the RCSI Neuro Society and has served as the RCSI University representative for the Neurology and Neurosurgery Interest Group from 2018. Suzanne is passionate about pursuing a career in neurosurgery.
