Jahnavi (she/her) is a third year Medical Student at the University of Nottingham. Her academic interests range from oncology and cancer sciences to surgery, having recently published a paper that deals with biomarkers in breast cancer surgery. Currently working on research around neuroendocrine tumours for her intercalation, she is excited to dive deeper into the scientific research community as a part of the BSDJ Editorial Team.
As an international student, Jahnavi is passionate about diversity in Medicine, whether that is for Women in Surgery or for BME representation in the medical field. She has also enjoyed mentoring sixth formers in Nottingham in widening participation schemes for medical school. Jahnavi has taken part in fundraising and volunteering initiatives since her first year at University, and is currently a part of the executive committee of different organisations that help communities both locally and internationally.
Outside of University, you can find Jahnavi trying out a new recipe or watching a film at the cinema!
