Jamie Scriven

Jamie is a final year medical student at Cardiff University interested in medical education, pre-hospital emergency medicine and innovation. He is the President of the Cardiff Pre-hospital and Emergency Medicine Society and an advocate for free open access medical education (FOAMed). He has recently coordinated two global teaching programmes, reaching over 5000 healthcare students online.


Pursuing his passion for medical education, Jamie has presented several pieces of work at the Trainees in the Association for the Study of Medical Education (TASME) 2021 conference, encompassing online education and peer-peer learning during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, he has led diverse quality improvement projects, the most recent involving the introduction of a silver trauma triage tool in an emergency department, for suspected major trauma patients aged 65 and over.


Outside of university, Jamie enjoys trail running, cooking and a trip around the coast on his paddleboard. He aims to support students applying to medical school and has run workshops for the past number of years.
